Thank You for Waiting! Our Winter Specialty, “Fried Oysters,” Returns on November 2 at 5:00 PM!

2026.10.30

Thank you for your patience! We are pleased to announce that our winter specialty, “Japanese Fresh Oyster Katsu,” will be available starting November 2 at 5:00 PM (dinner service).

This year, oyster growth has been slower than usual, resulting in limited supplies at the market. After careful discussions with our seafood suppliers and market partners, we have finally decided that we are ready to begin serving our oyster katsu.

Our oyster katsu is prepared using a traditional method that we have preserved for over 60 years. Unlike ordinary fried oysters, we combine several fresh, raw oysters into one generous portion before frying.

We carefully select freshly shucked oysters, mainly from Mie Prefecture, and coat them in premium fresh breadcrumbs.

We place the utmost importance on the quality and freshness of our oysters. Because we use fresh, raw oysters, we handle and prepare them under strict quality and hygiene controls.

After being shucked at the source, the oysters are transported to Toyosu Market in Tokyo in the evening. They are purchased at the following morning’s auction and delivered to our Katsukichi restaurants early that same morning. Freshness is always our priority.

Once the oysters arrive, we carefully rinse them in cold water. We then coat them in flour, egg, and fresh breadcrumbs, in that order. Each portion is fried only after receiving an order from our guests.

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. This is what makes our oyster katsu special.

Last year, our oyster katsu was featured in The New York Times’ online feature, “25 Essential Seafood Dishes to Eat in Tokyo.”

We are truly honored to receive such recognition. We sincerely thank all our guests and everyone who has supported Katsukichi over the years. We could not have achieved this without you.

This year’s oyster katsu will be available starting November 2 at 5:00 PM (dinner service).

Our entire team will continue to dedicate ourselves to maintaining the highest standards of quality and freshness, and to serving food that brings joy to our guests.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support and look forward to welcoming you.
